Our range of mobility
Joint mobilization is a form of treatment technique used in order to manage musculoskeletal disfunction. The benefits of mobilizations is to restore joint motion that has been lost due to injury, and is also used when range of motion or mobility is lacking. When joint mobilization is used, it encourages the joint to move in a plane in which the joint has become restricted. Different grades of mobilization are used that depends by the severity of the restriction to the joint.
Taping & Strapping
Taping and strapping techniques are designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints.
A benefit being that it helps to alleviate pain and can be applied in hundreds of ways and has the ability to re-educate the neuromuscular system, reduce inflammation, enhance performance, prevent injury and promote good circulation and healing, and assist in returning the body back to full fitness by stabilizing the injured body area.
Electrical Acupuncture Therapy
Electro-acupuncture is the practice of acupuncture with the inclusion of small electric currents used to stimulate muscles and nerves. The aims is to stimulate particular acu-points, and through those, facilitate recovery and treat a variety of different conditions.
The potential is to contribute to the release of neurotransmitters, chemicals involved in signalling from nerve cells, and trigger pain relief and other recovery mechanisms.
Our range of medical
Sports Massage Therapy helps to eliminate stress and tension that builds up in the body's soft tissues during physical activity. Minor injuries and lesions occur caused by the overexertion and/or overuse, massage helps to break it down quickly and effectively. This form of treatment is not just for sports people, anybody can benefit from sports massage. This includes people who are in physically demanding jobs and those not so quite obvious. Sports Massage tends to be deeper and more intense.
Electrotherapy is a form of treatment, were small electrode impulses are used to repair and stimulate muscle tissue and to increase sensations and muscle strength. When providing this form of treatment, several different forms of electro-therapy can be used, such as i.e.: ultrasound, interferential therapy, trans cutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), laser therapy and muscle stimulation. The benefits are that electro-therapy uses sound waves to speed up the healing process.
Cryo-therapy is very effective in reducing swelling and reducing pain. In the clinic an ice pack is applied for a maximum of fifteen minutes to the area affected.
Oil or an alternative barrier (for those suffering from nut allergies) is applied to the area before applying the pack to prevent the ice from burning and the pack is wrapped in a towel.
This protection mechanism allows healing as tissues can be damaged by the thermal, chemical or mechanical energy known as “noxious stimulus”.
